 Welcome to Pukerua Bay School

Our Vision - "Confident, Inspired, Achievers"

Pukerua Bay School is a full primary school catering for the needs of children from year 1 to year 8.  The roll varies from 150 to 175 pupils.  The school has a friendly family atmosphere, with the majority of children coming from within the Pukerua Bay community.

Since its beginnings in 1927, with 127 pupils, the school has been the focal point of the community, and benefits greatly from high levels of positive parental and community involvement and support.

We have a very talented teaching team with a breadth of experience and success in delivering programmes of learning across the New Zealand curriculum.

The community has high expectations of our school, and many parents have a close liaison with it.  Home/Community consultation and communication is frequent and thorough.  The school is governed by a Board of Trustees representing the local community. The Board and teaching staff appreciate and foster home and school co-operation as an invaluable means of enhancing the childrens' learning.

The school's values and vision are central to the teaching philosophy and organisation of Pukerua Bay School.  Whether your child is a new entrant or older student, we aim to provide a challenging, productive and happy school environment to ensure children's success as confident, inspired achievers.
